2020 HomeStart Grant

The HomeStart Grant is a first come first serve down payment assistance program which is available to qualifying home buyers earning up to 80% of the area median income for the location of the residence being purchased.

Through the program, eligible households may receive up to $7,500 in down payment and closing cost assistance. It is available with all lending programs (Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA).

You may be eligible if you:

•      Are a first-time home buyer or the other purchaser in your “household” is a first-time home buyer

•      Earn an income that does not exceed 80% of the area median income ($87,900 for Portland metro area)

•      The sale price of home is under $427K (in the following counties: Washington, Clackamas, Multnomah, Columbia, and Yamhill)

•      Complete a home buyer education class

•      Qualify for mortgage financing with lender

•      Have a signed Purchase and Sale Agreement to enroll in the HomeStart Program.
